Christmas Update and Photo

Merry Christmas Everyone!!

Here's our little dumplings in their Christmas finery :)

Alyssa (7)

Logan (4)

Katelyn (3)

Alexander (12 months)

We are having a very rough month. Our 2 month old was hospitalized for a couple days with RSV and he has passed it on to Alex. Alex is bigger and more healthy than Christopher so he's fighting it off pretty well. Poor tiny Chris is having quite a bad time with it. He has to have breathing treatments each four hours--which he doesn't care for at all! It was hard having me and the baby away for a few days but my mother in law (bless her soul) held down the fort for us Friday and my mom (bless her soul, too) held it down Saturday while Jassen worked. All the grandparents are helping out with the transporting to/from school and watching the babies while I transport since Chris can't go outside the house for 7-10 days. The kids are all very excited about Christmas. They all lay in front of the twinkling Christmas tree each night and gaze longingly at the packages underneath. Well, except for Alex..he prefers to climb under the tree and help himself!!! This year will be so much fun. God Bless All and Have a Very Merry Christmas! From the Fuksa's: Jassen, Robin, Alyssa, Logan, Katelyn, Alexander and Christopher.

Adoption Update December 6, 2006

Adoption Update!

Great News! The best interest staffing was done on 11/1/06 and we were "officially" chosen as Alexander's adoptive family :) The case manager called and said "Congratulations! He's yours!" Next step is signing the adoption placement agreement with SRS (Social and Rehab Services) which marks the end of his foster care placement and makes us his legal guardians pending the court hearing! Alex has been with us since he was 2 days old and we are just so happy! Praise God!

Alyssa Marie Fuksa

Alyssa and Logan with Santa (December 2005)

Alyssa's Spot:

Alyssa is our family drama queen! Always happy and smiling- she is a joy to have around. Alyssa attends first grade and received straight A's for the first nine weeks. We are so very proud of Alyssa since school has always been such a struggle for her. She is a trooper and has worked very hard.

If you need entertainment for your parties- Alyssa will recruit her little sister, Katelyn, and they will be happy to sing and dance the most unique ballet you've ever seen! Of course- the ballet may well be danced to the tune of Twinkle Twinkle Little Star (Kate's favorite song) or I Love Rock n Roll (Alyssa's favorite song). Either way-- I guarantee it will be the cutest ballet you've ever seen :)

This photo was taken October 2006. It was on "mismatched" sock day during Home Coming week.

Logan Dean Fuksa

Logan's Spot:

Logan has been busy helping daddy! They have scrapped metal and are working on restoring a 1966 Ford Truck. Logan loves to work in the garage and mimics everything that daddy does.

Logan has been diagnosed with a metabolic disorder called Methymalonic Aciduria. He takes several medications that help him break down protein. He attends a special education preschool in the afternoons and is doing well.

bottom (r): this is what Logan looks like after working in the garage with daddy all day!

In case you are wondering...those are his garage overalls!! That's all he'll wear when he goes outside to work with Jassen.

Katelyn Suzanne Fuksa

Katelyn's Spot:

Katie is doing great! She goes to a special education preschool in the afternoons through the school district and is learning all sorts of new things. Katie has really come out of her shell in the last six months since beginning the PALS program. While still some what reserved with a hot-temper...we are beginning to see a break in the clouds...and peeking out is our little sunshine baby! Katelyn has learned how to be a diva from her big sister, Alyssa. The two of them stand on the picnic table outside in the back yard and entertain us with a concert-complete with dancing. They use Alyssa's jumpropes as microphones!
